Roughly fifty automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.
Law enforcement state they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a resident noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.
The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then found multiple other smeared cars and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.
Police state preliminary tests suggest the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; officials are not yet cognizant of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they commented.
Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have asked to the public for tips.
An important representative said the incident rendered him speechless and needed to be addressed quickly.
"This act affects the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on online, recalling the murder of nine victims by a assailant aiming at people of foreign heritage in 2020.
